Works with any 2.4Ghz wireless g/n routers.wlan0 will always remain internal and you won't have to figure out which one is which. That file goes into /etc/udev/rules.d/ It will assign wlan2-wlan5 to the USB ports on a Pi3 (it should work for other version too). My temporary solution is to simply plug in the adapter after boot.Ĭheck to see if you can start airmon-ng on what you assumed to be the onboard wifi By default, the onboard wifi on a Pi3 does not support monitor mode. I discovered when the PAU05 was plugged in before boot, it would occupy wlan0, forcing the onboard wifi to be wlan1.
Have either of you figured out the solution? If not, I will dive into this problem and see if I can find a fix.
I've verified in a full Kali install, the PAU05 is working fine both as a normal client and for monitor mode.
The PAU05 will operate as a normal wireless client, however I am unable to put it into monitor mode.Īirmon-ng is unaware of what driver to use with it. I'm currently encountering the same issue. The best thing? The base model is only $20 $5!.ĭo you know a related subreddit? We'd love to know.
